Product Description: ODIER Bike Trailer Hitch
Installation Guide for the Hitch
Begin by opening the quick-release lever and removing the nut and spring from the opposite side. While holding the lever, pull the axle skewer along with the spring out. Ensure that the skewer is completely removed, but keep the wheel in its place.
Next, slide the hitch onto the skewer. Ensure that the wide end of the spring faces outward and touches the lever, while the bell of the hitch should point outward as well.
Insert the skewer's end through the wheel hub and replace the spring with the wide end facing outward. Then, thread the nut back onto the skewer.
Adjust the hitch to form a right angle, tighten the nut by hand, and then clamp the lever securely. To connect the trailer, use a Q/R pin to attach it to the coupler.
About the Hitch
Our painted stainless steel bike trailer hitch is designed explicitly for Burley trailers, offering both durability and strength. This hitch is compatible with disc brake systems and full-suspension bikes, making it versatile for various setups.
The hitch works with quick-release axles and solid axles up to 12mm (OD = 0.48 inches). If you are working with 12mm thru-axles, you will need Burley’s adapted thru-axle, which comes with external threading designed for our axle-mounted hitches.
For those upgrading from a Classic Hitch to our Steel Hitch, please note that a Flex Connector is also necessary for proper installation. Although the Flex Connector is not included with this hitch, it is readily available in our store.
Important Note: This hitch is incompatible with Breezer-style dropouts.
Constructed from strong stainless steel, our trailer hitch is expertly finished to ensure no burrs or rough edges. Rest assured, our product stands up to its promise. Try it, and you'll find it performs just as well as the original!
